We hope that all of you are safe and have escaped the devastation brought into our lives by cyclone “Amphan”. We are all aware that people were without electricity and water for hours following the devastation by the cyclone. Fortunately the school building has not suffered any major damage other water seepage into some of the classrooms which is only to be expected because of the wind force and lashing rain. Minor, compared to what a lot of people and property have suffered. Some of our teachers have been without power for over 48 hours. Despite our difficulties, stress, strain and anxiety we have promised to find ways and means to allow the presence of music in lives. It is a constant source of joy and a great healer. Wishing you safety and strength to face these difficult times.

Parents are requested to check the NOTICE TAB for two important notices regarding the above.

1. The student should send a video recording of one of the pieces that he/she is preparing & some of the technical work (exercises, scales, arpeggios) played at a slow tempo with the metronome(if possible). It is important that the video recording shows the fingers playing clearly. 2. The student also needs to sent the scanned sheets of the music score. 4. The teacher's observations will be communicated through phone/mail/Whatsapp to the student. The teacher may send a video where demonstration is required.. 5. Worked out Theory papers can be scanned and sent to the teacher which the teacher will correct and send back a list of the errors recorded

For the time being just the monthly fees, may be paid into the Kotak Mahindra Bank A/C 0312135407 IFSC KKBK0006582 in the name of Jyotishka Dasgupta at the same rate as in the 2019-2020 session. Any fee enhancement that was due to be implemented in 2020-21 stands rolled back given the present circumstances. There will be no late payment penalty till the first month of resumption of normal activities. It would help if we did receive the fees in order to be able to disburse the teacher’s share to them. In the absence of the opportunity to train and prepare students for the examinations, the Theory exam scheduled for 9th. May stands postponed till further notice. Inconvenience caused is regretted but under these extra-ordinary circumstances we are unable to predict what the immediate future holds for us. All we can hope for is SAFETY and EXCAPE from the virus.
